We salute your passion and advocacy on social awareness topics such as mental health, self-care, and more. How did you come to this point of wanting to create panels and events to help others such as the Lady Boss Series?

Kathi: I feel that panels ensure there will be different viewpoints on the topics that were chosen. It helps the audience to gain a well-rounded perspective of the subject matter. By doing this I hope that the audience member may resonate with the speaker and have a one-on-one discussion. My panel of Lady Bosses was significant because I conducted a panel composed of 4 women under the age of 35 who were building their own empires. One had published a fashion magazine, one had developed and sold her brand of ice cream, one manufactured and sold her brand of lipstick and one was a successful event planner. These fabulous ladies proved that you can do it at any age.

There were a variety of ages in the room who benefitted from the knowledge and expertise in various areas of business. It was an excellent way to network. Founding a nonprofit organization has made me realize there are various opportunities to help others. There is much-unrecognized talent that my panel discussions and events allow them to be seen and heard. I want to make a difference in society.

What is vital for our readers to know about you?

Kathi: The readers should know that once I set my mind to do something. I move on it. I have failed on occasion, but I learned from the effort. If I never did anything I would have not had an experience to learn from.

As a nonprofit founder, author, and actress, how do you balance your career, personal life, and mental health?

Kathi: I am very organized. I prioritize projects. I keep a calendar so that I can stay on point. I know how to step away and relax. I take time for myself.

Congratulations and being an award-winning actress! What has the acting journey been like for you so far?

Kathi: My acting journey has been an education. There is so much work that I have to do to ensure that I give my best performance. I take acting classes and I practice a monologue daily if I don’t have a script to rehearse. There have been highs and lows. This is expected but this is my passion and I will continue to submit for roles.

What do you enjoy most about the work that you do?

Kathi: The world can be a lonely place. I enjoy seeing women bond and share their knowledge freely without expecting anything in return. I enjoy knowing that my organization has made a difference in the lives of others.

What are some upcoming projects and events you are working on as the founder?

Kathi: My next event will be held in October or November. It will be a virtual panel discussion on Women and Their Money. What is the best way to keep it and make it grow? I will have a selection of panel members that will provide the answers.

In what ways can women get involved with your nonprofit?

Kathi: Women can get involved by sharing their expertise as future panel members and donating to Serving Women Across Generations.

Award-Winning Actress Kathi Muhammad has always loved acting. She began acting in 2017 and enrolled in Réussir School of Modeling, Acting, and Refinement to get the proper training. Once Kathi graduated, she then auditioned for a Talent Agency. The first role they secured for her was that of a mourner at a funeral. Kathi continued to take classes and was cast in television shows, movies, and industrials. She decided to act as her own agent and booked many roles for herself including music videos, commercials, and web series.

Kathi Muhammad is also the founder of Serving Women Across Generations. Kathi began Serving Women Across Generations (SWAG) when she retired. Kathi Muhammad had always wanted to start a women’s organization. Throughout her life, she often noticed the women were very private. They were not open to each other. Perhaps they didn’t want anyone in their business. Many families made it a strict rule that what happens inside the family stays inside the family. That made an impression on the children. Growing up it became what they did too. Kathi was no exception to that rule. As a woman in the workforce, she found this to be true. Kathi thinks it may have been a distrust or a sense of not wanting to be vulnerable.

She decided to start an organization that would give women of all races, religions, and generations an opportunity to come together and share challenges that they had overcome by finding solutions or resources they discovered to help themselves which would in turn help others. For Kathi, it is comforting to know that other women have traveled the same path and they are not alone on life’s journey. We are all in this together.
