Sheldon and Tammi Moore are a dynamic duo who, in less than three years, has become a dominant force in a specialty niche in the billion-dollar trucking industry. They exemplify success in the cargo/sprinter van and box trucking industry offering a full slate of services including freight delivery, business coaching, training, and dispatching. With God-given vision, razor-sharp focus, and industry insight, they have founded not only one trucking company but several. Yael Transportation, LLC, is their trucking business.
Who is your business role model? Why?
Sheldon: For Tammi, it would be Oprah Winfrey. Oprah created a platform where she became the voice of the people who did not have the privilege to voice their opinion. She was dedicated and passionate about helping people and it mesmerizes her when she sees someone have an AH moment (like a light bulb went off inside of them and they have a new awakening). She is described as a Beacon of Hope by 5000 people who look up to her. One of my favorite Oprah quotes is “The reason I’ve been able to be so financially successful is my focus was never ever for 1 minute on the money”.
In her book, ‘What I Know For Sure’, Oprah writes, “What I know for sure is that every day brings a chance for you to draw in a breath, kick off your shoes, and step out and dance — to live free of regret and filled with as much joy, fun, and laughter as you can stand. You can either waltz boldly onto the stage of life and live the way you know your spirit is nudging you to. Or you can sit quietly by the wall, receding into the shadows of fear and self-doubt.”
What do you have planned for the next six months?
Tammi: Our goal is to start back going across the country educating and training people on this box truck and cargo van opportunity. We’re looking at hitting all the major cities providing free training and free education around this industry.
What would attract listeners to your story?
Tammi: I think the first thing that will really attract listeners to a story is the fact that my husband spent eight years in federal prison. A system that is designed to take your hope. He stayed faithful in his relationship with God all while he was behind bars to the point that he was even tithing from prison. In prison, he prayed 3 important scriptures every single day. His prayer request in prison was God guide me in the ministry, guide me to my wife, and guide me to the transportation business. God has blessed him with every single parent's request. He not only has helped over 600 people start their transportation businesses, but we have also turned four people into millionaires, and he is now running a multimillion-dollar operation — in just a short 5 years!
What is your proudest business accomplishment?
Sheldon: Our greatest business accomplishment is being able to turn over 600 people into entrepreneurs since covid. We have coached and trained over 65,000 people since covid, and we have actually spoken to 3 million people all across the world sharing this information on how to start a trucking company with a cargo van a sprinter van, and a box truck.
What’s your best piece of advice for aspiring and new entrepreneurs?
Tammi: As it relates to the trucking and logistics industry my first piece of advice is to learn the industry and understand the history, and the trans of the transportation industry. Identify what area you would like to work in and grow in. Tap into a mentorship program and work alongside a coach to help you eliminate making some of the major mistakes.
A lot of people making the trucking business and the transportation industry a billion-dollar soon-to-be trillion-dollar industry. Women are tapping into this industry like never before. It is a very lucrative industry so you are going to have to hustle and grind. However, you could truly become very successful and very wealthy in the transportation arena.
