Abed Ereikat is the author of the memoir titled “A World Of Good”. Abed wanted to write a book about what happens when the odds are against you, and you still manage to make a way.” It is a story of the humble beginnings with a genesis proceeding from a small house on a hill in a remote village in Palestine a country with a tense history. It starts there and somehow meanders where he writes from a tourist destination in America, overseeing 300 team members for one of the most significant popular resort properties.

Abed says that all of this is grounded in the humble truth that anyone can certainly do it if he did it. It is his hope in sharing his story that the readers may be encouraged to see the power of a mindset. Abed life’s values and principles have been hinged upon and are no secrets left for an elite few. They are for an entire generation to rise, apply them and benefit the world for a life worth living and a world worth living in.

Abed has recently been featured in We Empower Magazine and Hustle and Soul Magazine.

We understand that you are a General Manager at a large Resort. What has this experience been like for you?

Abed Ereikat: Starting from a bellman part-time position all the way to a General Manager was a humbling experience and wasn’t easy, but honestly in my humble opinion the higher you go the more servant leader you should become. GM is not a title, it’s a responsibility to all the people that you represent. You simply value those people for who they are, not just for what they give the organization. So I put the needs of my team first by coaching, mentoring, and developing them.

Serving all from the heart is my purpose in life. I see my title as a huge responsibility and an honor to all whom I serve and those who trusted me with it, my team, my owners, guests, and my entire organization. I strive daily to make sure I don’t let anyone down.

Your memoir, A World of Good, must have been a liberating and fun journey. Any new books in the works?

Abed Ereikat: I am hoping to start my second book which will be about leadership early next year, basically what true leadership is all about, to be used as a guiding principle with examples throughout history on who’s a leader or why they earned that title to be called a leader.

What have been some of the testimonials you receive so far from people who have read the memoir?

Abed Ereikat: All the reviews on Amazon came out with 5 stars and below is three reviews I want to share as an example of feedback.

This book is a great reminder of what really matters. They are not only words on paper, Abed is an amazing leader who truly puts these into practice. The book teaches you (or reminds you) that through hard work, perseverance, love, kindness, we can reach anything… all of these lessons within a beautiful, entertaining story that is hard to put down. I will definitely go back to it and read it again and again anytime I need a reminder of all the good things in this world, and all the good we can do if we are determined to make a positive difference!

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Book!

A World of Good is a book that everyone deserves to read. It is a feel good journey through the life of Abed Ereikat, an amazing man who leads and served others from the heart. The only thing that can top reading this book would be meeting the author in person. If you get a chance to meet him on a future book signing or a keynote speech, do it, you will not be disappointed.

The book gives us an honest look at his struggles early on and how he faced so much adversity.

Do you ever experience writer's block? If so, what have been some of the best practices you’ve used to move past those moments?

Abed Ereikat: I believe everyone experiences those and the best way is to keep going. Don’t disconnect, don’t stop for a long period of time. It’s like exercise, if you skip a few days or a week, your muscles will show it and it’s hard to get back to it. In my case, I was so in the moment and was totally focused on my story phase after phase. When you’re writing a true story from the heart as it happened, you don’t go blank, and also due to Covid, I was pushing with a sense of urgency to finish on time. Also, I was blessed with a good partnership from my publisher and editor to check things out and had discussions weekly about each chapter before its final so you need someone to hold you accountable so you don’t stop or quit.

What do you enjoy most about being a writer?

Abed Ereikat: That I can imagine things, I can see things and feel them. It’s the noises you hear about, the things you write about, such as smell, touch, or taste as you live in the moments.

What are some super fun facts about yourself that many people are not aware of?

Abed Ereikat: I LOVE binge watching Netflix. I'm not patient for shows with commercials. I eat fast, I love to be challenged as the more you tell me it can't be done the more I feel determined, and I talk with my hands.

What does the rest of the year look like for you?

Abed Ereikat: This year started very busy at work and in the Orlando area, since we are lucky and blessed to live and work in an area where millions of people vacations, I don’t see it slowing down, so I will continue to focus on my family, my career, daily work, and my public speaking plans by serving others and make a positive difference everywhere I show up.

A World of Good was published via Rojas Publishing, 2020.
